DLDI Issues

Due to the libfat code running on the ARM7 instead of the ARM9, current DLDI patches for homebrew cards might not work. Please let us know in this happens with your card in this forum topic. We may be able to provide modifications to the patch in order to get it working. We have already come across this issue with the R4, and you can download a pre-patched version from our downloads page. This has been patched to prevent autopatching, as later versions of the R4 firmware include the autopatch functionality by default. The R4 DLDI code modification and the prebuilt DLDI patch are also available in the source bundle. NOTE: If you would like us to look at supporting your homebrew card, you MUST supply us a link to the DLDI source code for that card. We cannot help if the manufacturer does not supply the actual source code for building the DLDI patch. If you want to try and compile the DLDI patch yourself, there is a guide on building DSVideo DLDI patches on the main site. |

Unfortunately, CycloDS Evolution’s DLDI driver isn’t compatible either. The problem is, the DLDI is not publicly available (since CycloDS’ firmware patches homebrew on-the-fly), the same is true for it’s source code. You can however, try to persuade Team Cyclops to either fix the code or send it to you (though for some reason, developers had problems with them in the past) or try to extract the file from it’s clone, EDGE. On their website, a pre-patched MoonShell package is available to download. But then again, extracting the DLDI and reverse engeneering it might be even harder … |

Hi Also EZ V has problems running DSVideo :( I have the latest update (1.70) wich adds the DLDI autopatching, tested by me with several homebrews, but it doesn’t work with DSVideo. The unpatched version says it’s upatched and stops. A friend of mine says also Acekard r.p.g. has problems running the player |

Supercard One: not working M3 adapter SD version: I cannot get it to show up in the menu for some reason |
|
|
I’ve compiled up an M3CF and M3SD DLDI patches that link to the ARM7 instead of the ARM9. This should enable them to work on your systems, I hope. Can you test them? You also need to prevent any auto-patching if these systems do that, as they will auto-patch incorrectly. Either you can find an existing binary for dldinoap, or use the one we provide in the the source, under the thirdparty directory. |

I can conferm the the SD version of the M3 adapter is now working with the new patch The last 2 not working ones I have is the CycloDS Evolution and the Supercard One. I would be happy to test them also. |

Great, thanks Peppers, I’ll look at perhaps creating a library of DLDI patches for DSVideo on the downloads page. Does CycloDS have source for the DLDI patch? Can’t see it on http://chishm.drunkencoders.com/DLDI/ Also, which Supercard patch do you use on Chishm’s page? I’ll grab it and recompile. |

Peppers, I have created a dldi for the SCDS you linked to above, with the DLDI name of “SuperCard DS (Slot-1)”. You can download it via: http://dsvideo.recoil.org/releases/scds_arm7.dldi Can you also check this is working? If so, I’ll post to the blog with an update for this and the M3 patches. Chin Hong and MauMau, unfortunately I cannot find source code for the DLDI patches on your cards. If you can provide a download link, then I can help. |

killeron, unfortunately that is just the DLDI file. What we need to recompile it for DSVideo is the source code for the DLDI patch. It is the difference between:

I need the second one. |

Thanks it works perfectly!!!! |

Many thanks Sepro, I’ve taken a copy of your dldi file and placed a link in the downloads page. I’ve also split the DLDI patches into confirmed and unconfirmed, to help with tracking what works and what doesn’t. |

Unfortunately it doesn’t work with the Acekard R.P.G. and this card is open source. |
